Weather forecasts are hard to get right - even more so when the weather is so different in the same area.
If you listened to the forecast this morning you may have thought a thick coat was going to be necessary - but in fact you could have done with packing sunglasses - especially if you're in the Holme Valley.
At lunchtime temperatures on Holme Moss reached a balmy 16.8 degrees while Huddersfield town centre was just 9.2 degrees - a difference of nearly eight degrees Celsius.
So why is one place like the picture below and one like the image above?
The answer is radiated fog.
Weatherman Paul Stevens explained: "Through the night under clearing skies, the hills cool faster than the valleys.
"The cold air rolls down the hillsides and settles in low-lying areas and tends to stay for longer.
"People will notice a big difference in temperatures from one area to another, especially where the fog is lingering.

"It is really warm in some parts but several degrees colder elsewhere."
