A FOOTBALL fan has been banned from matches following his appearance in court.
Aaron Childs, of Chestnut Street in Sheepridge, appeared before Huddersfield magistrates yesterday.
The 19-year-old was charged with football-related disorderly behaviour on September 10 following the Town v Tranmere Rovers match at the Galpharm Stadium.
Carole Lawford, prosecuting, said that Childs was identified as one of a group of ‘risk supporters’.
She said he had to be escorted to and from football matches by police because of his behaviour at previous games. Ms Lawford said that Childs was heard swearing at a group of Rovers fans.
Then, allegedly with a group, he followed them to St George’s Square and continued to shout and swear aggressively.
Ms Lawford said Childs was the main protagonist and alarmed others in the square.
Childs denies the charge and will next appear before magistrates on November 1.
He was bailed on condition that he does not go within one mile of the Galpharm Stadium for three hours before and after a Town game. He must also not approach within half a mile of Huddersfield railway station in these periods.
Childs is also banned from within five miles of stadiums when Town are playing away and also where the England team are playing.
