Bank Holiday Monday is likely to be a chilly one in Huddersfield.

Weather forecaster Paul Stevens says the day could be dominated with a chilly north-westerly wind which will keep temperatures round about the 13°C mark.

But it is likely to be a mostly dry day, with just a chance of a light shower.

Mr Stevens said: “The day should be bright with sunny spells, but there will be that wind.

“Looking further ahead, the rest of the week remains a mixed picture with no signs of either a prolonged hot spell or indeed any washout days.

“It should be quite changeable with winds from the west”.

But there could be better news for early June. “There are signs of a burst of heat and sun, with high pressure drifting across the UK from the south, leaving a rather cool May behind”.
