Two successful Huddersfield people have taken on new roles in the town.

Graham Leslie and Nina Hossain have accepted posts as ambassadors at the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice in Brackenhall.

Their role will be to promote the work of the hospice.

Mr Leslie is a successful serial entrepreneur and professor at the 3M Buckley Innovation Centre at the University of Huddersfield.

He was also instrumental in developing what is now the John Smith’s Stadium, while serving as chairman of Huddersfield Town.

ITN newscaster Nina is also Huddersfield born and bred and regularly returns to the town.

She has hosted the Examiner’s Community Awards showcase for the past few years.

Both are already keen supporters of the hospice and actively involved with the charity.

Mr Leslie has most recently funded the charity’s Legacies campaign and Nina Hossain helped to launch the Tea Party Campaign in August, attending a tea party with her own children on Yorkshire Day at the hospice for the charity’s children and families.

Peter Branson, chief executive of Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, said: “We are thrilled that both Graham Leslie and Nina Hossain have accepted our invitation to become ambassadors of our charity.

“They are both already extremely passionate and supportive of the work we do.

“Their role as ambassadors will be to champion our cause and continue to support specific campaigns and events to help us build awareness and reach out to more families who need our help.’

The pair join the charity’s existing ambassadors, Olympic gold medallist and wheelchair athlete Hannah Cockcroft and successful racing car driver Daniel Lloyd.
