Huddersfield’s Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice is still unable to re-open - eight days after a fire.

The Brackenhall hospice was forced to shut after the fire on January 13 and will not re-open until next week at the earliest.

The fire broke out at the Hospice about 7.30am and caused damage to the main electricity board which supplies power to the site.

No-one was injured in the incident.

There was only one child being cared for at the time who is now being cared for under the hospice at home scheme.

Workmen are still working to put right the damaged power supplies.
