A CHARITY trying to build a children’s hospice in Huddersfield has received a funding boost thanks to a charity ball.

The event was held at Bagden Hall near Scissett on Saturday to raise cash for the West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust.

The charity needs £3m to create a hospice and respite centre for children at Brackenhall.

The ball attracted 160 guests, who enjoyed a meal, entertainment from a band and magician and an auction.

The event was organised by Kate Gamble, Kathy Bonner and Paula Copley.
