HUDDERSFIELD Town’s former player and manager Peter Jackson is putting his best foot forward for the club.

Fans’ favourite Jacko has become the 100th person to sign up to the club’s sponsored Walk for Pounds event, in aid of the Keep It Up campaign.

The former captain will join fans in the 27-mile trek to Bury on March 3 to raise funds for the campaign which supports the Town Academy and the lifesaving Yorkshire Air Ambulance charity.

Peter said: “When I heard the club was organising the walk, I knew I wanted to get involved.

“I’ve done sponsored events like this for charities in the past, and think that the two causes involved in the Keep It Up campaign are very deserving.

“I’m looking forward to doing the walk, and seeing some familiar faces.”

The walk to Bury’s Gigg Lane is one of three sponsored events the club has organised for 2012 – there is also a 10km Run for Pounds on March 18, and the popular Pedal for Pounds 3 charity bike ride at the beginning of May.

All of the charity events will boost the Keep It Up fundraising post, which has raised almost £400,000 since its inception in 2009, with the club’s goal being to hit the half a million mark by the end of 2011/12.
