A floor fitter has refused to discuss his former company’s debts – over a year after leaving a charity high and dry.

Gary Connor, who ran Allfloors Huddersfield Ltd, said he would not discuss money the defunct company owed to Slaithwaite charity Waves.

Waves, a day centre for young people with learning difficulties, paid Mr Connor an £825 ‘deposit’ for Astroturf for its sensory garden, in June last year.

But despite numerous promises, Mr Connor failed to deliver or refund the charity is money.

Several customers were left out of pocket when Allfloors folded in July last year.

Waves chief executive Sally-Anne Green said the charity had still not been paid back.

But Mr Connor, who is now working for a carpet company, refused to discuss Allfloors’ debts when contacted by the Examiner.

Mr Connor said he was “legally obliged” not to discuss anything regarding his former company.
