POLICE say four people have been hurt after a shooting in Huddersfield today.
Armed officers, backed by the force helicopter, were called to an address in Bradford Road, Fartown, at 3.41pm to reports that three shots had been fired.
Officers found two people injured and both were taken to hospital. Two others were also found to have received hospital treatment and police believe the incidents are connected.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said it was not believed any of the victims were seriously injured.
Bradford Road was closed while investigations got underway and local Neighbourhood Policing officers were carrying out reassurance patrols in the area.
Assistant chief constable Craig Guildford said: "Thankfully incidents like this are extremely rare in West Yorkshire but where they do happen we always carry out a detailed and thorough investigation."
Mr Guildford urged anyone with information to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
