Police made a further appeal for witnesses after an elderly man was badly hurt in New Mill.

The 93-year-old pedestrian suffered serious injuries when he was in collision with a van on Friday morning.

Roads policing officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident.

The collision was at about 10.25am at the junction of Greenhill Bank Road and Holmfirth Road.

A blue Ford Transit Connect van which had been travelling along Greenhill Bank Road and was turning right on to Holmfirth Road was in collision with the pedestrian who was crossing the road at the junction.

The man, who is local to the area, suffered a serious injury to his body.

He was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary where he is today described as in a serious condition.
