THIEVES robbed two youngsters after threatening them with a screwdriver.

The victims were playing football in a Batley street when the gang of three, who were in a car, approached them.

The friends were playing at the junction of Oaks Road and Bridle Street, Soothill, when a blue, G-reg Ford Escort drew up at 10.40pm on Friday.

Two passengers got out of the car and started to talk to the youngsters, then asked them for their mobile phones.

The victims were threatened with a screwdriver and a phone was stolen.

All the robbers were white and aged 18 to 20.

One had a chubby face and short blond or light brown hair. He wore cream trousers and white trainers.

The second was tall, with pale skin and short, black or dark brown hair. He wore a baseball cap, a dark jumper and dark jeans.

The third had short, dark hair and wore dark clothes.
