FANS of a popular children’s TV programme have been invited to take part in a weekend of fun and games in Huddersfield.

Thomas the Tank Engine will be making an appearance at the Kirklees Light Railway with his friends Percy, Toby, Mavis and the Troublesome trucks.

The railway will be open from 10am until 5pm with half-hourly trains running throughout.

The event will take place on April 26 and 27 and will also include donkey rides, bouncy castles, children’s entertainers, face-painting, badge-making, colouring competitions and rides on the Troublesome Trucks.

Andrew Hurd, general manager of the railway, said: “I am very much looking forward to the event, it is the first Thomas this year and everyone is very excited that Thomas is back.”

The prices for special events at the Kirklees Light Railway are as follows: adults £7.50, children £5.50, concessions £6.50 and under threes free of charge. Family tickets (two adults and two children) are £24.00.
