THE first fundraising event to help raise cash to send a terminally-ill youngster on holiday will be a week on Sunday.

A £7,000 fundraising appeal is going on to send eight-year-old Pierce White-Carter and his family to Disneyland in Paris.

Pierce, of Cowlersley, suffers from a rare form of cancer called neuroblastoma.

His great grandmother is Mrs Cora Carter who chairs Kirklees Federation of Tenants and Residents Associations and she has already had offers of help with raffles and fundraising events from tenants groups across Huddersfield.

A family fun day will be held at the home of another relative, Nancy Ludlow, at 201 Netheroyd Hill Road in Fixby on Sunday, May 9, not Saturday, May 8, as previously stated.
