A MELTHAM mother and daughter are to zipslide 120ft above the hallowed turf of Old Trafford to raise vital funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Karen and Leanne Corneille, of Thick Hollins Drive, are taking part as a close family member suffers from the condition.

"We're a bit scared, but it's for a good cause and they'll be six of us from Meltham in our group," said Leanne, 18, who is a student at Huddersfield New College.

Leanne and Karen, 42, along with the other members of their group, aim to raise around £600 when they take part in the fund-raiser on Saturday, May 14.

Manchester United star Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will attend the event, which also be staged on Sunday, May 15.

Money raised will help 7,500 babies, children and young adults with cystic fibrosis.

The event is open to anyone and full training is given on the day. Mr Solskjaer said: "I am sure fans will jump at the chance to visit Old Trafford while knowing they are making a real difference to a great cause."

To take part email events@cftrust.org.uk or call the hotline on 020 82907904. Minimum sponsorship if £100.
