RESIDENTS have been invited to the next meeting of the Denby Dale Area Committee on March 6 in Upper Denby.

On the agenda will be a presentation on ‘locality’ working, an update on children’s centre activity and plans, plus ideas for improvements to the village centres.

The meeting will start at 7pm and will take place at Denby CE (A) First School, Goose Green, Upper Denby.

Clr Elaine Ward, Area Committee chairman, said: “The council is committed to delivering a locality working model for our ward.

“With regard to our Village Enhancement Scheme, suggestions are coming in thick and fast. It's good to know that we have a community spirit and people care about the ward they live in.”

Improvement plans to be discussed at the meeting include:

More effective services through better co-ordinated working

Services that are more flexible and are shaped up to reflect different needs of localities

Greater engagement of residents and elected members shaping service and delivery

Better public satisfaction and perception of the council
