CHARITIES interested in taking part in this year’s Examiner Charity Challenge can find out more about the event next week.

This year’s launch night will be held on Tuesday at St Patrick’s Centre on Trinity Street in Huddersfield town centre starting at 7.45pm.

The challenge will be held on Sunday, May 19 at Lepton Highlanders sports ground at Lepton.

A range of fundraising events are organised by Lions clubs in Huddersfield, Holmfirth and Meltham including 12-mile, seven-mile and four-mile walks and Nordic walks on the seven and four mile routes. There will also be three bike rides including a family ride, a touring bike and a mountain bike.

There will also be a horse ride.

A pushchair and wheelchair event will be staged at Beaumont Park – and this year will be renamed the Teddy Bear Hunt.

The Lions organise all the events and all charities and individuals have to do is commit to taking part in them and raise sponsorship.
