A £60,000 games area has been officially opened in Marsden.
The new Marsden Multi-Use Games Area came about through a partnership between Kirklees Council's Valleys Area Committee and local organisations working for Marsden youngsters.
The multi-court is on land next to the National Trust car park and more than £40,000 of the cost of the project came from the area committee.
Other sponsors include the Local Network Fund for Children and Young People, Marsden Enhancement and Residents' Society, Marsden Against Crime and the Cuckoo's Nest charity shop in Marsden.
The site was opened by Sgt Steve Holberry, of the Neighbourhood Policing Team.
Police and fire service staff also attended and gave out information.
Chairman of the area committee, Kirklees Mayor Clr Margaret Fearnley, said: "I hope that it is well-used and respected.
"It has taken longer than initially planned but we have achieved the desired goal in the end."
