YOUNG people could benefit from a new play area.
Kirklees Council wants to build a multi-use games area (MUGA) with floodlighting in Knowl Park in Mirfield.
Clr Martyn Bolt, who represents the town on Kirklees Council, said: “We have identified a need for more recreational facilities in Mirfield. Knowl Park is the biggest recreational area in the town.
“The vast majority of residents want something for our children from early toddler age upwards.”
The decision on the MUGA has been delegated to council planning officers.
