A GANG of hooded men mugged a teenager at Fenay Bridge.

Now police in Huddersfield are appealing for witnesses after the 16-year old boy was robbed on Station Road. The incident happened on Friday, February 11, but details have just been released.

It was around 10pm as the 16-year old was walking home along Penistone Road and up Station Road. He was approached by a group of six or seven men. The boy attempted to avoid the group by crossing the road but was followed and then grabbed and punched by the group.

During the struggle, the boy had his bag taken from him.

He managed to escape the group and call for help from someone at a nearby house.

The suspects ran from the area, across parkland near to the Fenay Bridge pub. The victim was not seriously injured during the incident.

He described his attackers as men wearing hooded tops and who had their faces covered.

It is believed the suspects may have been hanging around the area of the New Paradise takeaway before the robbery.
