POLICE are searching for a gang of Asian youths who attacked a cyclist on the Spen Valley Greenway.
The attack was on the cycle route near Ravenshouse Road, Dewsbury Moor, at about 3pm on Thursday.
The young male rider, a local student, was stopped by a group of six Asian teenagers, one with crooked teeth, who demanded his bike.
He refused to hand the bike over and was headbutted in the face.
An attempt was made to take the bike, but the rider held on.
He was then punched in the ribs by the same youth before the group left. The student rode off.
He did not need hospital treatment and nothing was stolen.
The main attacker was described as Asian, aged 16 to 18 years old, 5ft 11ins with a chubby face and medium build. He wore a blue baseball cap and dark jumper.
