A masked gang of men wielding a handgun and two hammers carried out a terrifying robbery at a bookmakers in Mirfield last night.
The incident unfolded at 9.40pm as three men stormed into the Betfred bookmakers on Huddersfield Road, each armed with a weapon.
Once inside they stole cash from the till then fled. No-one was injured in the incident.
Police are now investigating the robbery and appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Det Con Andy Clayton, of Kirklees CID, said: “We are interested in hearing from anyone who was in the area around the time of this offence who believes they may have seen the men preparing to enter the bookmakers or making off afterwards, potentially getting in to a vehicle.
The men were all wearing grey hooded tops with the hoods up and black face coverings.
