They're the grades that can ensure entry to college, sixth form or onto an apprenticeship — GCSE results.

This month students across Huddersfield and Kirklees will find out how they performed in their GCSE exams and what their education future holds.

This year GSCE results day is on Thursday August 25.

It's a nail-biting day for 16-year-olds across the country — while most will celebrate, others could be facing a re-sit or two.

Visit the Examiner website on August 25 to see how schools across Kirklees have performed and the grades pupils recieved.

Last year Heckmondwike Grammar School had the best record of all the high schools in the area.

But it was beaten into top spot in a chart of high schools in Calderdale and Kirklees by The North Halifax Grammar School, which saw 99% of its pupils achieving at least five GCSEs at A* to C including English and Maths in 2015.
