The Scope charity shop at New Street is asking locals why voting matters to them.
It is part of the disability charity’s Polls Apart campaign to raise awareness about the barriers disabled people face in voting. These include inaccessible polling stations and a lack of voting information in alternative formats. Shop manager Mandy Gibson said: “Voting is really important to disabled people but many are still denied their democratic right.”
