GHOST hunters are returning to an Elland pub after allegedly finding a host of spectres there last month.

Members of UK Haunted paranormal investigation team visited The Great House, which is said to be haunted.

The seven-strong team of mediums, photographers, historians, tarot readers and crystal readers assessed the pub by holding seances, setting up night vision cameras and electromagnetic field (EMF) devices, using dowsing rods and ouija boards.

Mediums claimed to sense multiple ghosts on the site. The results of this test will be compared with those taken at the second all-night visit on March 27.

UK Haunted member Nicola Froggett, a trainee medium and tarot reader, was at the Great House with her husband Trevor, also a UK Haunted member and trainee medium.

Nicola said Trevor and fellow mediums also sensed the presence of several murders, a sword battle, a Cavalier soldier, a dead stable boy and religious men.

Only one member of the team - historian Linda Francis - was told the pub's historical details, so that the mediums were not prejudiced or misled.

When UK Haunted return to the Great House, they are hoping members of the public will join them.

Nicola said: "We are very excited about going back. It is our goal to catch something on film."

Visitors pay between £15 and £50 for a ticket, which includes food and drink.

The money helps pay for specialist equipment for the investigations.
