A 12-year-old girl was badly hurt in a road accident on a pedestrian crossing.
The youngster was crossing Holmfirth Road near its junction with Wessenden Head Road in the centre of Meltham when she was in collision with a Volvo car at 7pm last night.
She suffered a broken right arm and a fractured left wrist.
The car involved was a Volvo driven by a man from Helme.
