THE lover of former Calder Valley Tory candidate Sue Catling has been in court after attacking her. Barrie Henderson, former chairman of the Calder Valley Conservatives, pleaded guilty to actual bodily harm. He admitted throwing a wine glass at Mrs Catling during a row at his home at Thorpe Mill Court in Triangle, near Ripponden. She needed emergency surgery for a severed tendon in her finger. Henderson, 54, was ordered to pay £2,000 in compensation and £90 costs. He was also given a 12-month community order with 80 hours work by Calderdale magistrates. The court was told the pair had known each other five years and were still together.
