TWO supermarkets with branches in Hudersfield have recalled various naan bread products over fears they could contain glass.

Shoppers at Sainsbury's and Morrisons are being urged to return packets of own brand naan, made by Patak's Breads Limited in Cumbernauld.

Those listed include Sainsbury's Taste the Difference two plain naan (best before 20 December) and Morrisons two plain naan (best before 26 December).

The Food Standards Agency said the risk of glass being present was very low.

Shoppers should return the products to their nearest store for a refund, the FSA said.

Other products to be recalled include:

Sainsbury's Taste The Difference two garlic and coriander naan (best before 20 December)

Sainsbury's two peshwari naan (best before 20 to 23 December)

Morrisons two plain naan breads (best before 27 December)

Morrisons four plain mini-naan breads (best before 24 to 26 December)

Morrisons two garlic and coriander naan breads (best before 24 to 27 December)

Morrisons four garlic and coriander mini-naan breads (best before 24 to 27 December)

A spokeswoman for Sainsbury's said the naan, usually found in the bakery aisle, were being recalled as a precautionary measure.

The supplier, Patak's, distributes cooking sauces, curry, pastes, chutneys, pickles and poppadoms to more than 40 countries and is served in more than three-quarters of Britain's 8,000 Indian restaurants.
