A GOLCAR man faces a crown court judge after producing drugs worth thousands of pounds.

Kris Woods, of Botham Fields, was before District Judge Marie Mallon sitting in Huddersfield yesterday.

He admitted producing 10 cannabis plants at the home he shared with his partner and two children.

The judge was told that officers were called to the property on Woodhead Road, Holmfirth, on November 10.

They found a production set up in a first floor bedroom, including lighting, a boarding lined with foil and a small electric fan.

Police also found a ceramic pot containing 2.04 grams of the stronger skunk cannabis.

Linda Fowler, prosecuting, said that the potential street value of the plants was £3,479.

Judge Mallon told Woods that she was committing him to Bradford Crown Court for sentence.

She said the case was too serious for her to deal with because of the amount of drugs involved.

Woods will appear before the Bradford court on March 9.
