LOCALLY-grown food is on the agenda at the next meeting of the Colne Valley Area Committee.

Rob Walker and Richard Murgatroyd, of the Golcar food Grower’s Co-op, will be outlining developments.

Lesley Hedges will also be giving information about a food survey carried out in Golcar and Longwood.

Clr Paul Salveson, chairman, said: “Buying locally produced food is a great way to help the environment and support the local economy.

“More and more people are getting involved in the local food movement in the Colne Valley, and this is a great way for people to find out what is happening.”

The meeting will also feature an update from the Friends of Slaithwaite Spa and there will also be information on the latest from The Valleys Neighbourhood Policing team.

Residents can also question ward councillors about local issues.

The meeting at Slaithwaite Civic Hall, New Street, is on Wednesday, February 13, at 7pm.
