A murder inquiry continues this morning as tributes were paid to a young man who was fatally injured in Golcar.

The 22-year-old, who has not been named, died in Huddersfield Royal Infirmary yesterday morning shortly after he was found at a house in Elmfield Avenue.

Police immediately launched a murder enquiry with more than 20 officers taking part and within hours two men aged 23 and 34 were soon arrested on suspicion of murder.

A 17-year-old boy was subsequently arrested some hours later.

All three remain in custody this morning and will be interviewed by investigating officers.

A police cordon remained at the scene this morning and an alleyway leading off Elmfield Avenue has also been sealed off.

Tributes have flooded social media many naming the victim but police have yet to formally release the victim’s name.

Emma Louise Riordan posted: “So very sad. They are all someone’s son. I grew up on that street, it will be tough for all involved.”
