A TEAM of Golcar Scouts won a cooking contest.
Scouts from across West Yorkshire entered the County Scout Cooking Competition.
The annual event – held at Bradley Wood Scout Camp site, Brighouse – consisted of teams competing in a ‘Ready Steady Cook’ style competition, when each team was given a bag containing ingredients.
The Scouts had to prepare and serve a full three course meal using a two ring gas stove.
The ingredients included a large mushroom, brie, half an onion, a chicken breast and a carrot.
The 4th Golcar (Huddersfield) Scout Group won the County Scout Cooking Competition last year after impressing the judges with their culinary skills and retained the title.
They cooked their way to victory with their three-course meal.
It started with mushrooms stuffed with brie and breadcrumbs, a main course of pan fried chicken goujons in a spicy tomato sauce on a bed of rice, and finishing with drop scones with a banana and chocolate sauce for dessert.
