A Bradley couple have celebrated their golden wedding.
Frank and Mary Sallis, of Sherwood Avenue, met through mutual friends in 1949 when they were teenagers.
Mr Sallis, who comes from Birmingham, was a tank transporter in the Army and Mrs Sallis worked for a hairdresser.
They married at the former St George's Church, Huddersfield.
Mr Sallis, 72, worked as a weaver at Classic Carpets, Brighouse and later did maintenance work at the former Zeneca chemical works, Huddersfield.
Mrs Sallis, 70, worked until she was 60 in the weaving industry. Much of her time was spent at Taylor and Lodge at Chapel Hill, Huddersfield.
The couple have three children and seven grandchildren. They celebrated their anniversary with a meal out and are later going on holiday.
