A LUCKY Batley woman has scooped £26,500 in the National Bingo Game at the Mecca Club in Dewsbury.
The 49-year-old warehouse worker, who wants to remain anonymous, is a long-standing player.
Her numbers came up on Saturday night.
"My mother took me in with her in the days when kids could go in," she explained. "I knew the rules when I was 12. I play once a week now but used to go more ."
The woman believed both her late mother and father somehow helped her clinch top prize.
"She would have been ecstatic about the win. I am sure my mum and dad were both with me that night. Whenever my back gets warm I just know they are there."
The mother-of-three has a two-year-old granddaughter she now plans to take to Disney World in a few years' time.
Her winnings comprised the National Game Prize of £25,000 plus a further regional prize of £1,511 and the house prize of £72.
She shared her national winnings with a woman from Airdrie.
