Green belt turbine proposal at Delph Farm near Ainley Top

PLANS for a wind turbine on green belt land near Ainley Top have been submitted.

PLANS for a wind turbine on green belt land near Ainley Top have been submitted.

The owner of Delph Farm, Moor Hey Lane, has applied to Calderdale Council for one Endurance 50kW wind turbine on a 24m mast.

The proposed turbine would fall within the Elland ward and is surrounded by agricultural land and the M62.

A report, submitted as part of the planning application, says:

“The application site and the surrounding area comprise of an open agricultural landscape made up of a mosaic of agricultural fields mainly used for grazing purposes.

The location is within the green belt and due care and attention has been undertaken in ensuring the landscape is not impacted.

“Due to the proximity of neighbours, the turbine chosen has a very low noise frequency which will almost certainly be masked by the M62 which runs approximately 280m due south of the proposed site.”

Calderdale Council is inviting members of the public to comment on the planning application until Friday, April 20 with a decision due by Thursday, May 10.
