NEW workers have been brought in to improve green spaces in Crosland Moor, Deighton and Newsome.

Consultants Environmental Alliance, who provides help with money and advice on green issues, have recruited three new staff, using cash from the Huddersfield Pride regeneration agency.

They are Sue Leffman, for Crosland Moor, Ali Stopher at Deighton and Clare Christian in Newsome.

Their roles will involve assessing how to give people better access to green spaces, how to improve the areas and how green spaces can offer educational and social benefits.

Jeff Keenlyside, a consultant with Environmental Alliance, said: "We want communities to have a greater influence over their green spaces and how best to use their resources.

"Green spaces play a fundamental role in our quality of life."
