THIRTY-FIVE Greenhead Old Girls met to celebrate their 70th year.

The former pupils of the girls’ grammar school travelled from as far afield as Cornwall, Scotland and France to take part. Many, however, still live in Huddersfield and meet up regularly.

Several ladies brought items of memorabilia which proved to be of great interest to their former classmates.

A celebration cake was cut by the following five Old Girls: Janice Mahony, the oldest Old Girl, Joyce Bel the youngest, who now lives in France and had never been to a reunion before, Christine Mills, head girl in 1958-1959 the year of the school’s Golden Jubilee, Judith Shearing, deputy head girl 1958-1959 and Lesley Baxter, organiser of the event.

This is the fourth reunion specifically for this group of former pupils.
