AN adoption agency is searching for Huddersfield people to become parents.
Adoption-Yorkshire, part of Leeds-based Catholic Care, is promoting adoption in the run up to Adoption Week, which starts in October.
For more than 75 years the agency has been involved in placing children with families of all religions.
Recently, it has focused on finding homes for babies with Down's syndrome, family groups of three children and children aged six and over.
Vera Ogden, team leader at Adoption-Yorkshire, said people aged up to 50 were able to adopt.
She added: "It is anticipated that by the time adoptive parents are 60, their child would be 18.
"So it is possible that parents aged 50 can adopt a child of eight."
She said adopting a child was a rewarding, but extremely challenging experience.
Specialist support for the child and adoptive parents is on offer from Adoption-Yorkshire.
