Two men charged with attempted murder of a man who was found in Holmfirth with gunshot wounds will appear at crown court.

Anthony Leonard, 25, and Michael Sierotko, 24, are charged with attempted murder, kidnap and blackmail.

Police mounted a search for 28-year-old Neil Hazelwood when he failed to return to his home in Bury, Greater Manchester, on September 8 last year.

Detectives traced the victim’s whereabouts to Hagg Wood, Thongsbridge, where he was found with gunshot wounds to his chest.

He was taken to hospital in a critical condition but has since recovered.

Leonard, of Mouselow Close in Hadfield, Glossop , and Sierotko, of Sunlaw Street, Glossop, appeared before Bury Magistrates Court on February 19 and the case was sent to crown.

It will next be heard at Manchester Crown Court for a plea and case management hearing on April 23.
