These youngsters have joined the fight to save Huddersfield’s A & E unit.

The children at Lindley Out of School Club have made a colourful banner to highlight the need to keep a full unit at the Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

Emma Roome, the Early Years and Childcare Manager, said: “We have been supporting the save our A & E campaign with our children.

“The children got involved in making a huge banner stating #handsofourhri with their own handprints chosen in their school colours. Some of the children were already aware of the proposed closure and had even attended the rally in St George’s Square with their parents carrying their own posters.

“We discussed the proposed closure with the children and one child’s reaction was ‘What? They can’t.’

“We have printed out the petition form from the Examiner and are encouraging parents to sign it.”
