DETECTIVES investigating the murder of a young man shot dead outside a nightclub have arrested a girl and a man in Huddersfield.

The 16-year-old girl and 21-year-old man were detained early this morning by police investigating the death of 23-year-old Michael Hanley outside Sheridan's bar at Calder Wharfe Mills in Ravensthorpe in the early hours of Tuesday, December 27.

Mr Hanley, of Harehills in Leeds, was shot in the stomach on an access road outside the club and died at the scene.

The two people arrested today were detained on suspicion of firearms and public order offences.
