YOUNG Hannah Olsen Shaw has shown that she has a mind for mathematics.
She has reached the finals of a tough national challenge.
Hannah, 10, pictured with her finalist's certificate, is a pupil at Rastrick Prepatory School.
She will now join other high-scoring pupils in the finals of the Primary Maths Challenge which is run by the Manchester-based Mathematical Association.
Head teacher Mrs Susan Vaughey said: "It wasn't a straightforward test.
"We're really pleased because the questions were quite difficult."
Hannah - who previously won a gold award in the regional heats - is the first pupil from the school to reach the finals of the competition.
She is expected to complete the final challenge in the next few days.
The results will be announced in February.
Hannah lives in Rastrick.
