A RALLY of Harley Davidson motorbikes will raise funds for a Huddersfield boy battling a rare form of cancer.

The Oliver Field Trust is raising cash for the Dalton toddler who is one of 100 children to be diagnosed with neuroblastoma every year.

This weekend the roar of hundreds of Harleys will reverberate across East Yorkshire for an annual fundraising rally – and Oliver’s brother, four-year-old Sam, will sound the horn to start the ride.

Organiser Rob Mitchelmore said they decided to donate the proceeds to the appeal when they found out about it from one of their members, who works with Oliver’s mum. Laura.

““Oliver’s appeal was an obvious choice because of the connections and because we knew that anything we did would help his family at what is such a difficult time.”

Eighteen month-old Oliver has an aggressive cancer of the nervous system for which he is undergoing treatment at the LGI in Leeds.

He’s getting the best possible care, but if this treatment does not work his parents face the prospect of having to take him abroad for further care and have set up the appeal to make that possible.

Oliver’s mum Laura said, “We’re looking forward to the rally and we’re really grateful for the support of Aire Valley Harley Owners’ Group”.

The event is part of The Humber rally.
