STUDENT Harriet Brooks is hot-footing her way to a prestigious dance

final. Harriet, 19, has made it through to the grand final of the Miss

Dance of Great Britain competition. She secured her place after winning her modern dance heat at the

Bramley Park Festival in Leeds. She will compete in the final at Blackpool Opera House in June.

It is the fourth time that Harriet, from Netherton, has reached the

final. She has also won numerous championships dancing for Yorkshire. Harriet is also proficient in a number of other dance styles,

including tap, ballet, jazz and Greek. She goes to the Huddersfield- based Adele Taylor School of Dance and

has been dancing since the age of three. Harriet is studying for a history degree at Huddersfield University.

She hopes to take her dance teaching exams and may open her own

dance school some time. Mum Lorraine said: "I am very proud of her and I know she is pleased

to have won her heat. "She loves to dance and she practised very hard for the competition.

"The first year she got through to the final she got to the last 13.

She hopes to do even better this time."
