A game of Thrones and Harry Potter star will grace a local music festival.

Natalia Tena, actress behind the character of Osha in the Game of Thrones series and Tonks in the Harry Potter films will take to the stage with her band at Underneath the Stars Festival on Sunday July 26 at Canon Hall Farm.

Talented Natia is the lead singer with six piece tropical, gypsy, dance group Molotov Jukebox who will appear alongside US songwriting legend Mary Chapin Carpenter and Barnsley-based singer-songwriter Kate Rusby, who has organised the event on July 24 to 26 with her sister Emma and brother Joe.

Natalia will play at the festival following a tour of Mexico with the band, undertaken in between her acting work.

The group released its debut album, Carnival Flower, in 2014 are now working on their next studio album.

Underneath the Stars festival director Joe Rusby said: “It’s great to be able to attract stars like Natalia and the sensational Molotov Jukebox to our festival.

“They have a unique and irresistible tropical, gypsy, dance flavour which never fails to get people moving and shaking. They’ve been wowing audiences across Europe and South America and have a loyal fan base which has nicknamed their style as ‘Gyp-step’.”

She will be one of the eclectic acts appearing at the festival, which will celebrate genres as diverse as folk, swing, jazz, rock and roll, blues and world music. Also performing are Scottish singer Eddi Reader, formerly of Fairground Attraction, Philip Selway of Radiohead and guitar maestro Martin Simpson.

The Underneath the Stars Festival has sold triple the amount it sold this time last year for the event, which will take place over three days from July 24 to 26.

Cannon Hall Farm workers will move their flock of 500 sheep to host the festival and have doubled the available space for camping and glamping.

The event was set up by famous singer-songwriter and Barnsley resident, Kate Rusby in an attempt to bring top quality national and international music to the area.

Festival director Emma Holling, Kate’s sister, said: “We had a great first year and have announced a great line-up for this year’s festival, so we are really pleased to see interest building so quickly in the event. We are expecting more sales in the coming weeks as people plan their summer”.
