STAFF and youngsters at Huddersfield Technical College's nursery services have achieved a hat-trick of successes.

The college runs two nurseries under the First Class name, each with 48 places, for children of students and staff.

The college has received a Kirklees Quality Award for Young Children, which is given to day care providers who meet 10 quality standards laid down by the council's Early Years Service.

The college was also inspected by Ofsted in February and was judges as being `good', with praise for the quality and standards of care and nursery education and child safety.

The college has also received the Kirklees Healthy Choice Award for high standards of food hygiene and for providing healthy food.

Liz Robinson, nursery services co-ordinator, said: "We are thrilled to have achieved the quality mark. We work very hard to ensure the children in our care have the best possible opportunities and start in life."
