A DOG lover who claims her treasured pet died after constant taunting from gangs of youths says she wants to bring the case before court.

Pam Livesey, 63, claims her dog, pedigree Rottweiler Zen, died as a result of the attacks from local youths.

In a sickening catalogue of incidents Mrs Livesey said the five-year-old dog was:

* Attacked by youths firing paint balls

* Wound up by yobs firing water pistols

* Taunted for hours by gangs of teens.

Mrs Livesey, of Burnside Drive, Holmfirth said: "It all came to a head on June 30.

She said: "I was in the back garden and I heard shouting, screaming and banging from the back fence.

"Zen was going wild - he was in an absolute frenzy."

Mrs Livesey went out to confront the youths, but when she came back she found her beloved dog "star-shaped" on the ground.

She added: "He was having a really violent epileptic fit. He had them before and the vet believes they were brought on by the stress of all the taunts and attacks on him."

She said the fit was so bad Zen had cut his face from thrashing around on the ground.

She said she stood petrified until the fit ended and then covered him with a duvet and made him comfortable until a vet arrived.

She added: "I was talking to him like a baby just trying to reassure him."

However when the vet arrived he decided Zen should be put to sleep to ease his pain.

Mrs Livesey added: "I will be haunted forever by the look in his eyes which stared into mine when we put him to sleep."

Now Mrs Livesey said she wants to make the people who attacked her dog pay for their actions.

She added: "I'm going to get all their names and get in touch with the police and a solicitor.

"People need to make a stand against this sort of yobbish behaviour and not tolerate it.

"I want them to realise what they have done."
