PEOPLE in Mirfield and Dewsbury have been urged to have their say about policing over the next three years.

A series of meetings is being held to decide the way the area is policed as part of the Policing Plan for Kirklees.

The first meeting is next Wednesday at 7pm in the Salvation Army Hall on Huddersfield Road in Mirfield.

The next will be at 6pm on Monday, March 10, in Dewsbury Town Hall.

Kirklees police commander Chief Supt Barry South, Dewsbury Neighbourhood Policing Team’s Insp Ian Gayles and several councillors will be there.

Insp Gayles said: "The public meetings are designed to gather the views of the public and allow us to build into the plan any local issues.

“Input from the public is key to developing this plan in the right way. Any views will be seriously considered and taken into account."
