DEBRA France-Sargent is trying to get more people involved in sport.

Kirklees Sports4Life’s new lead officer used the service herself to take up netball.

After joining a class at Colne Valley High School, she now plays for teams in the Huddersfield Invitation League and the West Yorkshire League.

Debra, who graduated with a degree in health and sports studies from Huddersfield University, is among 1,300 people to take up sport in the last three years thanks to Kirklees Sports4Life.

She said: “I really believe in the scheme. As well as the physical benefits it is a great way to meet a whole new group of friends.”

Kirklees Sports4Life has 650 active members attending 25 regular sessions for netball, badminton, touch rugby, running and swimming.
