PUPILS and teachers at a Huddersfield town centre school are celebrating after being presented with a health award.
Spring Grove J, I and N in Springwood has picked up the Kirklees Healthy School Standard Gold accolade.
It is only given to schools which fulfil specific criteria associated with healthy living and eating.
The pupils' wellbeing is a top priority and they are constantly made aware of the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
The children drink water and always eat their five-a-day fruit portions. They are also made aware of the dangers of smoking.
The lifestyle seems to be paying off because the school recently received an outstanding Ofsted report.
Head teacher Mrs Bibi Laher said: "We think a healthy lifestyle is important for the children.
"Your brain needs to be rehydrated and drinking water and eating healthily helps them think."
It is not just the pupils who are involved with the health programme.
The teachers have a wellbeing co-ordinator, who ensures they are healthy and happy.
Mrs Laher added: "The teachers, parents, pupils and governors were all involved with achieving this award."
