A COMMUNITY group that helps anxiety and depression sufferers is looking for a new town centre base.

Members of the Huddersfield-based Anxiety and Depression Support Group are searching for suitable venue in a bid to bring their services closer to sufferers.

They are appealing for anyone who can help them find an easy-access venue to rent for half a day a week, within a short distance of the bus station, to get in touch.

A staggering 15 percent of people over 65 have depression, and the group aims to help sufferers cope with the illness.

Group therapy team leader for the Jacqui Goff said: "Anxiety and depression affect many older people.

"The groups are run by health professionals and we help people with these problems by giving them information about the condition and teaching them self-help techniques."

The group has been running for a years and is currently based in the Crosland Moor area.

Group members have asked for the sessions to be moved to a more central area for easier access.

Anyone who knows of a suitable venue should contact Jacqui Goff on 01484 343424.
